Welcome to the Year 2 class page. My name is Mrs Vora and I work alongside Mrs Lambert to ensure that Year 2 have a wonderful learning experience. We want to create a safe, caring environment where children feel learning is fun and exciting. This year, we will work together to ensure that children reach their full potential and grow into confident learners.

Throughout the year, we have several interesting History units. The children will be learning about famous nurses (Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole), The Great Fire of London, Neil Armstrong and Charles Drew

In Geography, we will be learning about the oceans and continents around the world and finding out about the Northern and Southern hemisphere. We will also compare the United Kingdom with other countries around the world.

In Science we will be learning about Animals, including humans, plants, everyday materials and living things and their habitats.

Homework & Reading

Children are expected to read daily and learn the weekly spellings. They also have some Maths homework to complete every week. The spellings for the week and Maths homework will be sent out in the homework books.

Your child will be given a specific days where they will be listened to read and their book will be swapped on that day. Please check their reading record book for their reading day.

Please ensure your child has there reading books in school everyday.
